KavoussiIntroduction: An infrared camera and endoscope system has been developed as an adjunct to visual imaging in an effort to assist the surgeon in identifying various anatomical structures. Infrared imaging depends on differences in temperature between adjunct structures. It has previously been demonstrated in animal experiments to be useful in differentiating the ureter from blood vessels as well as assessing organ perfusion.
